Why we make calamine soap.
Calamine's zinc content gives it a naturally soothing, slightly astringent quality — the reason it's been in skincare medicine cabinets for generations. In a cold-process soap bar, it delivers the same calming effect on redness and reactive skin without the alcohol or fragrance that irritates delicate complexions.
Our calamine bars combine calamine with tallow, cocoa butter and cider for a bar that cleans very gently. If your skin flushes easily, doesn't tolerate strong scents, or needs a gentler alternative to your usual bar, this is the category to start in.
Every bar is cold-processed and cured for 6 to 8 weeks. Nothing about the process is rushed and the resulting bars are noticeably milder than anything mass-produced.
