Calamine is a soft pink mineral blend (zinc oxide + iron oxide) that has been calming reactive skin for over a century. A good starting point for skin that doesn't get along with most soap.
Why we make calamine soap.
Calamine's zinc content gives it a soft, slightly astringent quality — the reason it's been a skincare staple for generations. In a cold-process soap bar it makes for a very mild wash, with no alcohol and no added fragrance.
Our calamine bars combine calamine with tallow, cocoa butter and cider for a bar that cleans very gently. If your skin flushes easily, doesn't tolerate strong scents, or needs a gentler alternative to your usual bar, this is the category to start in.
Every bar is cold-processed and cured for 6 to 8 weeks. Nothing about the process is rushed and the resulting bars are noticeably milder than anything mass-produced.
