Matcha green tea soap, stone-ground and cold-processed.
Stone-ground matcha brings polyphenols and a soft, earthy green colour that comes from the leaf itself — no dyes, no pigment, nothing synthetic.
Why we make matcha green tea soap.
Matcha is whole green tea leaf ground to a powder, so it carries far more of the leaf's polyphenols than a brewed infusion. Those compounds are antioxidants, which is why green tea shows up so often in skincare formulas aimed at dull or congested-feeling skin.
Our matcha bar folds real matcha powder into a base of olive oil, tallow, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, cocoa butter and shea butter, then finishes with lemongrass and bergamot essential oils. The result is a gentle everyday wash with a clean citrus-green scent and a naturally muted green colour — the shade shifts slightly batch to batch because the tea does.
It suits normal, combination and oily skin, and works on both face and body. As with every bar, it's cold-processed and cured 6 to 8 weeks so the lather is dense and the bar lasts.
Good to know.
- What does matcha do in soap?
- Matcha is whole ground green tea leaf, so it carries the leaf's polyphenols — antioxidants often used in skincare for dull or congested-feeling skin. It also gives the bar its natural green colour.
- Is matcha soap good for oily skin?
- It suits normal, combination and oily skin. If your skin is very oily you may prefer a clay or charcoal bar, which cleanses more firmly.
- Why does the colour vary between bars?
- The colour comes from real matcha, and tea shade varies batch to batch. No dyes are added to even it out.
